Meet Our Team

Our Co-Founders

Licensed Clinical Social Workers. Yoga Instructors. Sisters. Innovators.

Melissa and Caroline founded True Mind + Body in 2012 to create a space where girls and women could feel strong from the inside out. Along their personal and professional journeys, they discovered the transformative power of mind-body practices and began integrating movement-based healing—like yoga and fitness—into traditional talk therapy.

As the practice grew, so did their vision. Recognizing a growing need in the community, they expanded in 2016 to serve individuals of all ages and identities, offering comprehensive mental and physical wellness support. Today, True Mind + Body is a multi-disciplinary practice delivering holistic, innovative care for the entire family

In 2025, Melissa and Caroline launched The Art of Well-Being, a sister company dedicated to expressive and movement-based therapies, including inMotion Therapy, art therapy, therapeutic yoga, and dance & movement therapy—with more services on the horizon.

While much has evolved over the past 13+ years, the heart of True Mind + Body remains the same: a deep commitment to high-quality, client-centered care. Our hiring process is intentionally rigorous, and we continuously invest in our team through exceptional clinical training, ongoing education, and weekly collaboration and supervision.
As mothers themselves, Caroline and Melissa only employ therapists they would trust with their own children because your family deserves nothing less.

Melissa Novack,

LCSW, RYT-500

Co-Founder and Co-Owner, True Mind + Body & The Art of Well-Being

Melissa earned her master’s degree from the University of Chicago and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) with over 25 years of experience, Melissa is the Co-Founder of True Mind + Body and The Art of Well-Being.

Melissa specializes in working with young adults, adults and couples navigating life’s transitions, anxiety, trauma, and relational challenges. Known for her warm, grounded presence, Melissa creates a non-judgmental space for clients to explore, challenge, and reconnect with themselves. She blends traditional psychotherapy with mind-body approaches to support clients in navigating life’s challenges, fostering emotional balance, strengthening nervous system resilience, and achieving meaningful, lasting change.

Melissa is also the author of Revolution U: Change Your Habits, Change Your Life, a practical guide to cultivating change through intentional habit-building and self-awareness. Beyond her professional life, Melissa nourishes her own well-being through yoga and spending time in nature—whether walking, hiking, or simply being outdoors. Above all, Melissa is most proud to be the mother of three amazing teens and young adults.

Caroline Novack,
