Michelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified expressive writing facilitator. She
holds master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Psychology from National
Louis University, as well as in Journalism, Writing and Reporting from Northwestern University.
Michelle works with adolescents and adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges,
parenting concerns, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She brings a thoughtful, integrative
approach to her work, drawing from a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic and mindfulness practices, and
expressive writing. Michelle tailors each session to the individual, meeting clients where they are
and offering a supportive, nonjudgmental space to process emotions, build insight, and develop
practical strategies for meaningful change.
In addition to her clinical work, Michelle is a parent of three children spanning older adolescence
through early adulthood. She has also facilitated expressive writing groups for women, nonprofit
organizations, teens, and older adults. She values the opportunity to bring both her professional
expertise and lived experience into her work with clients.
